Press Brake Operator

Job Summary

The Press Brake Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating and programming high‑precision power brake machines to bend and form sheet metal components for our packaging equipment. This role involves working with heavy‑duty machinery, specifically our Amada HFE 220‑4 and Bystronic Xpert Pro 250/4300. The operator ensures all parts are formed to precise specifications and quality standards, maintaining high throughput and on‑time delivery for shop operations.

• Machine Operation:
  Set up and operate CNC press brakes, including the Amada HFE 220‑4 and Bystronic Xpert Pro 250/4300, to perform precision forming and bending operations on stainless steel.
• Surface Quality:
  Maintain strict standards for material handling to prevent scratches, marring, or contamination of stainless‑steel surfaces.
• Tooling Setup:
  Select, position, and align appropriate dies and tooling based on material thickness and blueprint specifications.
• Precision Bending:
  Perform complex bends and sequences.
• Quality Inspection:
  Conduct first‑piece and in‑process inspections using calipers, protractors, and height gauges to ensure quality output and blueprint adherence.
• Maintenance:
  Perform routine maintenance on machines and tooling to ensure longevity and safety.
• Safety:
  Enforce and follow workplace safety standards, including proper use of PPE.
• Team Support:
  Assist team members in other fabrication areas as needed to meet daily production goals.
• Organization:
  Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S).
• Other:
  Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in CNC Press Brake operation.

Proven track record of successful setup and operation in a precision metal fabrication environment.

• Experience with Amada Operator or Bystronic ByVision CNC controls is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding complex mechanical blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of flat pattern layout and bend allowances.
• Strong attention to detail is required.

Independent thinking, strong organizational abilities, and a commitment to quality. Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

High energy level required; able to stand for long periods of time and safely lift to 50 pounds at varying frequencies.
