Duties/Responsibilities- Inspection of parts from each press at designated intervals.
- Start-up approvals and last shot inspections.
- Performing S.P.C. (Statistical Process Control).
- Monitor SPC data including conformance to control limits.
- Complete containment of suspect product when defects are detected.
- Generate Internal Corrective Action Report when necessary.
- Continuous upkeep of all inspection records, logs, and retains.
- Marking, tagging, and maintaining reference samples.
- Follow instructions and procedures for all aspects of the job.
- Ensure all parts produced meet all inspection criteria.
- Ensure finished secondary parts meet customer requirements.
- Isolate and properly tag all questionable received components and parts.
- Assist the shift supervisor in ensuring work is done right the first time.
- Lead the shift pass-down meetings at the end of the shift.
- Ensure necessary issues are communicated to the shift supervisor and the QA floor technician.
- Perform other duties assigned by the QA manager.
- Use various types of inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, vision machine, gauge pins, gauge blocks, Windows PC, etc.
- Understand S.P.C.
- Read blueprints.
- Read, write, and speak English.
- Determine subtle variations in color (color testing performed after hiring and repeated every two years).
- High school education or equivalent.
- Minimum one year experience in an injection molding environment.
- Minimum one year experience in a QA environment.
- Experience with vision inspection equipment.
- Ability to interact with people well.
- Deviations allowed based on ability to learn.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
- Ability to lift 15 lbs.
- Ability to access and navigate each department within the organization’s facilities.
