Job Summary

Location:

Elgin, IL. Pay: $24–$28/hour. Full-Time | Full Benefits. We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to help ensure our products meet safety and quality standards. In this role, you will perform incoming inspections, document and report defects, support production teams, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. You’ll play a key role in preventing defects, supporting machine builds, and maintaining high-quality manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities Inspection & Quality Control
  • Perform incoming inspections on raw materials and components
  • Identify defects and prevent non-conforming parts from entering production
  • Investigate quality issues and assist with root cause analysis
  • Support NCR reviews with the Quality Manager and Engineering Team
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear proper PPE
  • Use inspection tools and equipment safely and correctly
Documentation & Communication
  • Enter electronic reports into the Non-Conformance System
  • Communicate quality standards with production and engineering teams
  • Participate in quality meetings
Inspection Scheduling & Tool Management
  • Prioritize inspections to avoid production delays
  • Track and maintain inspection tools
  • Monitor calibration status and coordinate recertification
Production Support
  • Assist with basic rework and repairs such as tapping holes, deburring, paint touch-ups, and minor material removal
  • Operate basic shop tools including saws, bead blasters, grinders, and power tools
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve inspection and production processes
  • Participate in internal audits (5S self-checks)
Training
  • Help train cross-functional teams on inspection procedures and quality standards
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills (email, data entry, electronic reporting, remote meetings)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
  • Experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, or machine building preferred
  • Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools (CMM experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality systems preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
