Job Description
Position Summary:
- The Manufacturing Technician I is an entry‑level position focused on the effective and efficient production of our products.
- The associate will develop skills including formulation, filling and packaging of finished good antibody products.
- The associate will also develop skills around inventory management to assist laboratory scientists with their daily tasks.
- Safe lab practices; good documentation practices.
- Maintain detailed documentation and implement updates in support of ISO requirements.
- Commit to producing and maintaining the highest standard of quality in antibody production.
- Ensure on‑time delivery of production work and projects.
- Perform with assistance of batch records, standard work instructions, operating procedures or shadowing with a trained associate:
- Formulate antibodies to final concentration and buffer.
- Fill, cap/crimp, label and package antibody products for final sale.
- Assist with handling raw materials to support the Manufacturing Support Associate (as required).
- Adjust material and place material to stock in raw material locations.
- Retrieve from stock and return to stock raw material.
- Transfer incoming antibodies and antiserum to raw material locations.
- Restock point‑of‑use material.
- Maintain accurate inventory.
- Assist the manufacturing support associate and/or material handling in cycle counting or physical inventory as required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work within a team toward common goals.
- Ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated basic PC skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Associates in this position may generate or manage hazardous waste as defined by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.
- Individuals are required to receive initial hazardous waste training within the first 30 working days of assignment.
- The initial waste training shall include but not be limited to the following general categories: identifying hazardous and solid waste, hazardous waste management, recycling, treatment and disposal, emergency preparedness, record keeping, pollution prevention and waste reduction.
- Following initial training the associate will receive annual refresher training in the same topic field as listed above.
- Associate should be comfortable working frequently with organics, including flammable solvents, strong acids/bases, potential biohazards (including raw animal serums), large‑scale bacterial cultures, and hazardous chemicals.
