Growing OEM manufacturer of custom industrial machinery is seeking a hands‑on VP of Operations to lead a dynamic engineered‑to‑order manufacturing operation focused on fabrication, CNC machining, and complex equipment assembly.
This executive leadership role will oversee all manufacturing and operational functions while driving operational excellence, profitability, continuous improvement, and scalable growth.
The ideal candidate brings strong operational leadership experience combined with deep financial and P&L ownership, including ROI analysis, margin improvement, labor efficiency, and identifying strategic cost savings initiatives across manufacturing operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead all day‑to‑day manufacturing and operational activities
- Oversee fabrication, CNC machining, assembly, scheduling, quality, and production planning
- Drive operational efficiency, productivity improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and monitor KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, labor utilization, and throughput
- Own and manage operational P&L performance
- Analyze financial metrics including ROI, margins, labor absorption, operational costs, and profitability
- Identify and implement cost savings initiatives and operational efficiencies
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence programs
- Improve workflow, capacity planning, and manufacturing execution
- Develop high‑performing teams and strengthen accountability across operations
- Ensure safety, quality, and customer expectations are consistently exceeded
- 8+ years of manufacturing operations leadership experience
- Strong P&L management experience within a manufacturing environment
- Proven success driving ROI‑focused operational improvements and cost reduction initiatives
- Experience in custom machinery, OEM manufacturing, automation, or industrial equipment manufacturing
- Strong background in fabrication, CNC machining, welding, and assembly operations
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills
- Experience with in high‑mix, engineered‑to‑order manufacturing environments preferred
Due to the confidential nature of this search, the opportunity is being advertised across multiple U.S. markets and may not reflect the actual position location. Qualified candidates should be open to relocation, with relocation assistance provided. Compensation includes a base salary up to $175K plus a 25% performance bonus opportunity.
