Applications Engineer-Machine Tool-Michigan​/Ohio Area

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Installation of Renishaw Machine Tool Products on CNC machines
• Develop hardware/software solutions based on customer requirements
• Generate and install software for Renishaw products
• Conduct training on Renishaw Machine Tool Products at customer sites
• Conduct product training for Renishaw staff
• Provide technical support for sales and marketing
• Work closely with UK product development team
• Assist with introduction of new products
• Set up and attend trade shows
• Other duties as assigned or requested
• Require extensive travel primarily across the Michigan/Ohio area
• Interface with customers in various industries and with internal teams such as Customer Service, Marketing, and National Sales
• Generate quotes and presentations, and support trade show activities

• Minimum Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years of electrical skills (understanding of schematics, relays, wiring, PLC)
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating CNC machine tools
• Minimum 3 years of experience with CNC programming (G/M code)
• Demonstrated eligibility to use and access ITAR‑controlled data, if required

• Experience using CAD/CAM/solid modeling software
• Experience with a variety of CNC machine types and controls
• Knowledge of custom macro / parametric programming

• Comfortable operating and programming CNC equipment in a manufacturing environment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Mechanical aptitude, including use of power and hand tools, cable routing, assembly
• Electrical aptitude: multi‑meter use, wiring diagrams, relay wiring
• Ability to produce technical documentation and presentations
• Understanding of engineering drawings and measurement principles (GD&T)
• Microsoft product knowledge and general IT knowledge
• Organized, capable of scheduling work, setting priorities, and coordinating with customers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Conflict‑management ability

Annual:
Up to $85,000 (depending on level and location). Final offer amounts are determined by candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location.
