Job Title:
Automation Technician
The Automation Technician maintains and repairs automated machinery and Fanuc robotic systems in a modern, clean manufacturing environment. This role diagnoses system issues, performs preventive and corrective maintenance, and supports system upgrades and equipment installations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production operations.
Responsibilities- Maintain and repair automated machines and Fanuc robotic systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
- Diagnose automation, robotics, mechanical, hydraulic, and HMI-related system issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all equipment in the facility to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot production and process issues, including shorts, flashes, discoloration, and other quality-related problems.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to support maintenance and repair activities.
- Assist with system upgrades, including installing, configuring, and commissioning new automated equipment and robotic systems.
- Support machine builds and modifications for automation systems and automated equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance and resolve recurring issues.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications in accordance with facility procedures.
- Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and robotic systems.
- At least 5 years of automation experience working with robots in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 5 years of maintenance experience on manufacturing machinery, including preventive and reactive maintenance.
- At least 5 years of experience troubleshooting various process issues such as shorts, flashes, and discoloration.
- Strong hands‑on experience with automation systems and automated equipment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Fanuc robotic systems.
- Solid mechanical aptitude, including experience with machine build and mechanical repairs.
- Experience working with hydraulics and related systems.
- Ability to work with HMI (Human‑Machine Interface) systems for diagnostics and adjustments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Knowledge of plastic materials and various polymers used in manufacturing processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills in a production environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree or certificates in robotics, automation, or mechatronics (preferred).
- Experience working with Arburg brand machinery (preferred).
- Experience working with Fanuc robots beyond basic operation, including setup and troubleshooting (preferred).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams in production and maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment reliability and quality.

Pay Range: $30.00 – $40.00/hr
