Master Electronics Technician
Support Rockford production and development test labs on the first shift. Work with internal customers, trades, and shared services to maintain, repair, and adjust complex production equipment, machinery, or instrumentation, ensuring reliable functionality and compliance with process and safety specifications.
What You Will Do- Repair, adjust, troubleshoot, and maintain complex equipment, machinery, or instrumentation.
- Measure, analyze, and calibrate instrumentation/equipment for setup and check‑out.
- Read, interpret, and create equipment and wiring schematics.
- Understand mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for test or maintenance of parts or systems.
- Perform fine electronics soldering and advanced printed circuit board troubleshooting.
- Conduct equipment inventories and arrange disposal of obsolete equipment.
- Use and modify advanced electronic software controls.
- Maintain and repair motors and drives.
- Develop and troubleshoot electrical systems from incomplete information, cooperating with engineering and operators.
- Ensure proper functioning of equipment through ongoing inspection and maintenance.
- Provide training to operators and fellow technicians on proper equipment use.
- Create procedures and work instructions for operation of equipment, machinery, and instruments, updating as needed.
- Review and estimate design costs for equipment, installation, labor, and materials.
- AA/AS degree (or equivalent 2‑year post‑high‑school training) with a minimum of 10 years of hands‑on relevant experience.
- Experience with electronic measuring equipment (e.g., DMM, oscilloscope).
- Experience with data acquisition equipment.
- Certification or strong experience in soldering.
- Strong understanding of electronic drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and NFPA 70E is preferred.
- Aerospace industry experience is preferred.
- PLC programming experience is preferred.
