Position: Certified Test Operator Class B, 2nd Shift (Onsite)

Position Details

Location:

Rockford, IL (4747 Harrison Ave). Shift: 2nd Shift 3:30pm – 11:30pm, Monday – Friday. Salary: $37.25 – $41.36 per hour.

What You Will Do
  • Testing, inspection, mounting hardware, plumbing, diagnosing, and related assembly tasks.
  • Maintain quality stamp authority and complete required documentation and records.
  • Perform work in accordance with written instructions such as route cards, job instruction sheets (J.I.S.), engineering drawings, or work orders.
  • Use engineering prints for problem analysis and general knowledge of assembly operation and function to troubleshoot units.
  • Operate departmental machinery, equipment, tooling, and gauging as required.
  • Lifting up to 35lbs and identify process changes and method improvements.
  • Verify instrumentation calibration and department records for torque wrenches, micrometers, gauges, etc.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineering, suppliers, and other personnel to resolve problems.
  • Interface with customer or government personnel as needed.
  • Use inspection equipment for visual and dimensional inspection of in‑process sub‑assemblies, assemblies, and process parts to ensure conformity to blueprints, J.I.S., test specifications, and engineering specifications.
  • Perform and monitor assembly test set‑ups and verify equipment calibrations.
  • Confirm job instructions, blueprints, or specifications are at the required revision.
  • Conduct environmental checks (temperature, humidity, cleanliness) of the work area on a regular basis.
  • Incorporate engineering changes into manufacturing processes as required.
  • Calculate fractions and decimals and apply shop mathematics.
  • Monitor process equipment for fluid and gas conditions, temperature, and other operating parameters.
  • Maintain program and process certifications as needed.
  • Print manufacturing documentation and perform related work functions.
  • Handle hazardous materials and apply chemical compounds such as adhesives, paints, and loctite.
  • Assist supervision with administrative tasks including ordering shop supplies, tools, calibration recalls, and material shelf life.
  • Maintain records of material acceptance or rejection.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Plumbing experience.
  • Experience with hand tools.
  • Experience with calibration and/or maintenance.
  • Previous experience in aviation or aerospace assembly.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience.
