Senior MachinistJob Description
Sets up and operates a large variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, CNC mills & CNC lathes to machine metallic and non-metallic work pieces.
Job ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions
- Sets up fixtures in both manual and CNC machines.
- Operates both manual and CNC machines.
- Uses all types of machining measuring equipment such as micrometers, depth micrometers, calipers, height gauges.
- Completes paperwork to maintain records, fills out inspection reports, and department standards.
- Reads moderately difficult blueprints or job orders for product specification such as dimensions and tolerance.
- Reads tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut.
- Secures tooling in tool holder (chuck, collet, and tool post).
- Positions and secures workpiece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers or fixtures.
- Loads proper CNC programs into the control.
- Responsible for achieving the desired quality level on parts manufactured personally and by lower level machinists and operators, with the highest degree of labor efficiency possible.
Non‑essential Job Functions
- Checks machinery lubricant levels and maintenance documentation for ISO 9000.

Qualification RequirementsMust be able to lift 50 lbs. Extended periods of standing. Good vision for inspecting work and preparing programs/drawings on computer. 2‑8 years of experience in machine operation, basic computer skills, and some CNC experience required.
Working EnvironmentClean, well‑lit, air‑conditioned area. Must be very safety oriented in the use of all machinery.
BenefitsPay Range: $29 to $31/hr plus incentive and shift differential.
