Position Overview

Hello NOW HIRING – DIRECT HIRE – IMMEDIATE START Maintenance Technician | Injection Molding Equipment & Production Support (Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Injection molding production equipment and plant systems in a plastics manufacturing environment.)

Randstad USA is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician for a plastics manufacturing facility in Elgin, IL. This direct‑hire position supports production by maintaining injection molding equipment, troubleshooting breakdowns, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime. Mechanical and electrical experience required.

• Ensure the upkeep of the injection molding facility.
• Maintain preventive maintenance programs on all molding and support equipment.
• Keep and update accurate maintenance records on all equipment and facility.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks as requested or directed.
• Other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
• Interact and communicate with all departments and machine manufacturer service technicians.
• Ensure a smooth running, well‑maintained facility.
• Minimize downtime due to machine or equipment failure.
• Provide clear and accurate records of maintenance activities performed.
• Communicate problems/issues in the manufacturing facility to the Director of Maintenance.
• Any and all duties as assigned.
• Work in a smoke‑free environment.
• Wear steel‑toe shoes.
• Perform manual lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Work up to 4 hrs of overtime per week.

• High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in hydraulics, electronics, and pneumatics.
• Basic understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints.
• Understanding of all support equipment associated with injection molding (thermolators, spru pickers, robots, grinders, etc.).
• Strength to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Own basic tools.
• Mechanical and electrical experience.

• Competitive pay: $32–$36/hr based on experience.
• Annual salary range: $62,400 – $74,879.99 per year.
