Job Title: Maintenance Lead & Shop Floater
Location: Elgin, IL
Job Type and Duration: Direct Hire
Pay range: $30.00 - $32.00/hr
Position OverviewWe are seeking a reliable and versatile Maintenance Lead to support our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment to ensure safe and efficient performance. In addition, this position serves as a "floater," providing support across various roles on the production floor as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect machinery and equipment to ensure safe operation and proper functionality
- Perform Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) in accordance with ISO schedules
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment to minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Identify safety concerns and take corrective action when necessary
- Provide flexible support across the shop floor by filling in for manufacturing roles as needed
- Assist production teams to maintain workflow and meet operational goals
- Previous experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and ISO standards is a plus
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to perform multiple tasks and support different departments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Experience with Punch Press, Metal Roll Forming, and Coil machines
- Sit-Down Forklift and Pallet Jack
- High School or GED
- Trade School or 2-year degree in metal shop
