Location:

Elgin, IL | On-site. Chemtech Plastics in Elgin, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician will support the Maintenance department by maintaining and repairing all equipment involved in an injection molding environment. Responsible for general building maintenance in which these activities exist.

• Remove parts from molding press as required.
• Visually inspect parts as described on job order.
• Delegate/trim, and package parts as described on job order.
• Perform all required secondary operations as defined on the job order.
• Be conscious of the safety, quality, and dependability of all equipment, products, and fellow employees.
• Operate the molding press in a safe, consistent manner.
• Perform other duties as may be requested by the Floor Person or Foreman.

• Demonstrate ability to work in a safe, dependable, and quality manner within a manufacturing environment.

• Stand at a press and perform repetitive operations for extended periods of time without a reduction in pace.
• Understand all equipment safety instructions.
• Use of bilingual floor person or inspector if needed.
• Understand all operator instructions.
• Use of bilingual floor person or inspector if needed.

• Prolonged periods of walking and standing.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Production plant that is moderately loud; ear protection encouraged, but not required.
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
