Position: Large Format Pre-Press / File Setup Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Pre‑Press Specialist to prepare and manage files for large format printing. This role is responsible for ensuring all artwork is print‑ready, accurate, and optimized for production while maintaining quality and efficiency throughout the pre‑production process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, prepare, and set up client files for large format printing (banners, signage, displays, etc.)
  • Ensure files meet print specifications including size, resolution, color mode, bleeds, and scaling
  • Adjust and correct artwork as needed (color correction, layout adjustments, file optimization)
  • Create proofs and communicate with internal teams or clients for approvals
  • Manage file workflow to printers
  • Collaborate with production team to ensure smooth job execution
  • Maintain organized file systems and job documentation
  • Troubleshoot file issues and resolve pre‑production challenges quickly
Qualifications
  • Experience in large format printing or pre‑press environment preferred
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Strong understanding of color profiles, resolution, and print production standards
  • Experience with RIP software (Onyx, Caldera, or similar) is a plus
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of various substrates and printing methods (rigid materials, vinyl)
  • Basic understanding of cutting/finishing processes (plotters, laminators, CNC)
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
