Clamp Truck Operator
This role offers the opportunity to join a brand-new, state-of-the-art greenfield manufacturing facility and play a key part in its day-to-day operations. The Clamp Truck/Forklift Operator safely moves large rolls from trucks and warehouse areas to the corrugator for production, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and product integrity. The position operates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and requires a self-driven professional who follows safety procedures, maintains high quality standards, and supports on-time shipments with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities- Operate roll clamp trucks and forklifts to move rolls from trucks and warehouse storage areas to the corrugator for consumption.
- Ensure all incoming loads are offloaded in a timely manner and placed in the correct locations according to established procedures.
- Verify that all loads are accurate, properly labeled, and damage-free before and after movement.
- Recognize, correct, or promptly report any safety, quality, or production issues using the tools and processes provided.
- Follow all safety procedures consistently and intervene when observing unsafe practices by co-workers.
- Maintain a high level of quality, productivity, and attention to detail while handling materials and operating equipment.
- Work with production operators, superintendents, the shipping department, and customer service to support smooth workflow and on-time shipments.
- Follow verbal and written instructions accurately to ensure shipment deadlines are met and unloading is completed within guidelines.
- Use basic shop math, including reading measuring tapes and rulers, to verify dimensions and ensure proper handling of materials.
- Protect materials and equipment from damage through careful and precise equipment control.
- Support inventory accuracy by placing materials in designated locations and working in alignment with warehouse inventory processes.
- Adapt to a flexible, fast-paced production environment and be willing to work extended hours, including overtime when needed.
- At least 2 years of roll clamp truck forklift experience specifically with roll clamp equipment (not standard clamp only).
- Proficiency operating clamp forklifts, clamp trucks, reach trucks, stand-up forklifts, sit-down forklifts, and related material-handling equipment as needed.
- Experience working in production or warehouse environments with exposure to inventory management and warehouse inventory processes.
- Ability to work overtime and typically support up to 60-hour workweeks Monday through Friday, including some Saturdays when required.
- Ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler and apply basic shop math in daily tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and high dexterity in controlling equipment to prevent damage to materials and machinery.
- Capability to lift up to 60 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
- Ability to learn and follow instructions, ask clarifying questions, and work effectively as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated strong attendance record and reliability, validated through references.
- Drive for results, strong work ethic, and a proactive, self-motivated approach.
- Positive attitude with the ability to work independently while maintaining a team-first mindset.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
