Warehouse Driver

Summary

Assist in the safe production of quality products by ensuring parts are moved through the production process efficiently and checked for quality. This includes:

  • Loading and unloading trucks
  • Supplying parts to production lines
  • Moving parts to the warehouse
  • Inventory maintenance
Compensation

Starting Wage: $21.00

We offer a 3rd shift differential of $3.00 per hour. The actual base pay offered will be based on multiple factors including knowledge, experience, location, and internal equity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Safely lifts, moves, unloads, and stacks material and supplies with electric or liquefied-gas powered industrial equipment (forklift).
  • Visually checks all incoming material, outgoing finished product, and packaging for damage; report any suspected damage in writing.
  • Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
  • Properly secure loads with seat belts or straps before moving with powered industrial trucks.
  • Read work orders or receive instructions to determine work assignments or material needs.
  • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
  • Position forks or other lifting devices to transport loads to designated areas.
  • Install protective devices to prevent shifting or damage during transport.
  • Inventory materials on the work floor and supply workers with materials as needed.
  • Deliver components and supplies to appropriate locations based on production schedule and safety.
  • Verify material in warehouse is acceptable before pulling from skids.
  • Record inventory transactions using the Bar Code Inventory system.
  • Perform routine inspection and refueling on powered industrial trucks (charging batteries or replacing tanks).
  • Apply 5S principles to assigned areas for organization, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Follow all company environmental, health, and safety rules and regulations.
Education and Experience
  • General knowledge of material handling, inventory, and quality control practices (FIFO and lot traceability).
  • Skilled at operating powered industrial trucks.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Read, write, and communicate in English to convey information effectively.
  • Minimum of 1 year driving a forklift preferred; forklift certification within our environment may be required.
  • Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental practices within the workplace.
  • Able to meet attendance requirements.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

The work environment is typical of a manufacturing setting. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. The noise level is usually moderate. Safety gear such as bump caps, steel-toed shoes, and safety glasses are required in all production areas. Hearing protection may be required in specific areas.

  • The job may require a minimum 40-hour workweek with overtime as needed.
  • The pace is steady and fast; employees stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods.
  • Ability to mount/dismount forklift and operate related pedals.
  • Frequent lifting up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; vision to pass inspection tests is required.
