Are you a creative storyteller looking to elevate your career in marketing and communications? Gail Borden Public Library District is seeking a Communications & Marketing Associate to join our highly-visible, award-winning Public Relations & Development team. In this role, you will play an integral part in connecting our community and partners to exceptional resources, impactful literacy initiatives, and museum-quality interactive exhibits.
Qualified candidates will possess strong written and verbal communication skills and collaborate closely with the team to develop engaging, consistent messaging that aligns with the Library’s brand and communication goals.
In this role, you will:- Draft, proofread, and edit written content for print and digital marketing promotions
- Assist with gathering, organizing, formatting, and editing content for the library’s newsletter
- Assist with maintaining the Library’s social media content calendar across platforms, such as Facebook, You Tube, Instagram, and Flickr
- Gather social media and project metrics and analyze data to create reports.
- Capture photo/video footage of library events for promotional purposes
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or Marketing or relevant field of study OR an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.
- Experience supporting or creating effective marketing communications for an organization, business, or relevant group.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and proofreading skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Knowledge and familiarity with running business pages on social media and digital communication platforms, including Facebook, You Tube, Instagram, Flickr, X, and email marketing tools such as Constant Contact.
- Willingness and ability to support video content creation through on-camera participation and behind-the-scenes assistance.
- Ability to work collaboratively in conceptual development meetings for library-wide projects.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
(37.5 hours/week) – Schedule may include occasional evenings & weekends based on library events.
$21 - $23 per hour. Offers are made within this range based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Please see list of benefits below.
