Director Of Compliance
The Director of Compliance is responsible for researching, creating, and writing grant proposals to fund Boys & Girls Club's initiatives and programs. The Director of Compliance is responsible for evaluating spending and the allocation of funds on a regular basis.
Key roles (essential job responsibilities) include:
- Conducting full range of activities required to prepare, write, and submit grant proposals in accordance with the fundraising budgetary goals of the organization.
- Serving as primary internal & external point of contact for all questions regarding grant/contract compliance and reporting.
- Ensuring timely grant/grant reporting, producing financial reports and collaborating with program staff to complete program reports.
- Being responsible for reports to funders as needed outlining use of funds and outcomes of programs funded in a timely fashion.
- Following-up on informational requests from funders.
- Identifying prospective foundation, corporate and government funders.
- Maintaining ongoing communication with foundations and government agencies.
- Maintaining current grant & contract records in database, including grant tracking and reporting.
- Developing systems to measure and monitor financial, program, and grant performance more effectively.
- Coordinating research on potential grant funders and seeking to determine where potential donor interests align with needs and opportunities of Boys & Girls Club.
- Establishing a system for tracking any reporting required by Boys & Girls Club to foundations.
Skills/knowledge required include:
- Exceptional skills in the areas of organization, attention to detail, time management, and ability to manage multiple tasks, define and set priorities and problem solve.
- Exhibiting professionalism and integrity through superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative with projects to work both independently and in a team.
- A personal mission, vision and values that align with Boys & Girls Clubs of Elgin.
Education and experience required:
- Bachelor's degree required. Accounting or Financial degree a plus.
- Experience with grant funding allocations required.
- Project management or internal assessor background preferred.
- Microsoft Excel: 3 years (Preferred)
