Position: Registered Nurse (4 East) - 7am-7:30pm

Registered Nurse (4 East) – 7am‑7:30pm

Registered Nurses are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care delivery. The Registered Nurse provides clinical leadership to the patient care team for the assigned shift.

Hours:

7am–7:30pm, weekend and holiday rotation.

Requirements
  • Advanced Diploma in Nursing (ADN) – Required
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification – required within 90 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification – required within 90 days of hire
  • RN license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
Responsibilities
  • Analyzes assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnosis, problems, and issues.
  • Assesses patients’ conditions and care delivery through direct observation, rounding, and data input from other team members.
  • Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient’s health or situation, recognizing normal and abnormal findings.
  • Coordinates bed and patient care assignments during the shift and in preparation for the next shift to ensure consistency in care delivery.
  • Documents and reports care delivered to physicians and other team members as needed.
  • Enhances professional growth through classes related to communication, teaching, stress management, conflict resolution, and team building annually (in addition to required unit/patient-specific education).
  • Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes and reports data and outcomes to physicians and/or other disciplines.
  • Implements care and supervises care delivered by other team members in alignment with the plan of care and approved safety and infection control standards.
  • Actively pursues required knowledge and skills through orientation activities, unit-based in-service programs, reading current literature, and seeking new clinical learning opportunities.
  • Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation.
  • Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
  • Plans and evaluates care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines for assigned patients.
  • Provides leadership and supervision to the health care team during the assigned shift.
  • Provides performance feedback to team members and inputs feedback to Manager/Director regarding appraisals.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the health care team, and identifies and confers with appropriate resources regarding patient care decisions.
  • Serves as a strong, positive role model for other health care team members.
  • Employs teaching strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
Compensation

Estimated compensation range: $39.12 – $60.64 per hour, paid based on experience.
