RN Clinical Educator
Clinical Educators provide clinical training, education, and develop performance-based learning experiences that support SBL nursing departments. They identify and provide training solutions to identified performance issues, measure achievement of learning objectives, and provide support as needed or requested.
Department: Clinical Education to support clinics in Practice Management
Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours a week required
Required qualifications: BSN, IL Registered Nurse, PALS, and BLS within 90 days of hire
Pay: Based on experience, starting at $39.12/hour
Responsibilities- Collaborates with Quality Management and Clinical Director - RN as assigned and consults with other Clinical Educators, Office Assistant Educator, Registration Educator, nurses, and other disciplines to assure appropriate clinical staff education and follow‑up.
- Develops and coordinates clinical education and competency evaluations for patient care personnel in the assigned division, validating competency for staff upon hire and annually thereafter.
- Establishes stability and reduces variance in operations and procedures related to clinical quality, promoting and utilizing quality‑improvement principles and methods to achieve high‑quality care and services.
- Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes, reporting data and outcomes to others as appropriate.
- Implements care or work plans in alignment with the plan and approved safety, infection‑control, and department/organization standards.
- Pursues required knowledge and skills through orientation activities, current literature, and new learning opportunities.
- Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
- Establishes effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the health‑care/work team, identifying and conferring with appropriate resources regarding patient/work decisions.
- Responds to appropriate requests and initiatives from Administration, other Directors and Managers, physicians, and staff to improve and/or expand clinical services.
- Is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of departmental policies, procedures, protocols and standards to maintain high clinical quality.
- Employs teaching strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- BSN (Required)
- MSNACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire
- BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire
- RN‑Registered Nurse licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
Estimated Compensation Range: $39.12 – $60.64 an hour; pay based on experience.
