Overview

Under the direction of the Global Quality Systems Manager, the Sr. Quality Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting business unit Quality Leads in developing and maintaining standardized quality systems. Responsibilities include creating and updating documentation such as data collection schemes, test methods, standard instructions, audits, manuals, and other routine quality system elements to ensure compliance with applicable international quality system requirements.

The role is 100% remote, requires 50% travel, and must be located in the CST or EST time zone.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the process for completing all new and annual compliance documentation for customers, including product safety, customer surveys, change control, capability studies, resolution of customer complaints, and quarterly reporting.
  • Coordinate various certification audits and requirement submissions such as ISO
    9001 and FSSC
    22000.
  • Understand DMAIC methodology and lead projects at the plant level.
  • Provide hands‑on assistance for the implementation and ongoing utilization of the QMS elements (corrective actions, supplier quality management, customer complaints, change control, audit processes, standard procedures, test methods, and process controls).
  • Act as super user for Infinity and other systems to support plants as needed.
  • Maintain standard scorecards and reports for all aspects of quality, including CARs, SCARs, and change control processes, and identify trends that add value for leadership decision‑making.
  • Support Thermoforming plant quality leaders in applying and implementing quality management systems and documentation for Global Food Safety and ISO
    9001 certifications.
  • Provide high‑level statistical analysis for trending and continuous improvement processes.
  • Manage supplier quality processes for the Thermoforming platform, facilitate document requests and approvals for new and existing suppliers to meet product safety requirements, and support division purchasing and inventory teams.
  • Lead and support supplier quality audits as requested.
  • Maintain customer and third‑party databases for compliance documentation, including Trace Gains, Repositrak, and customer portals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Seasoned quality management and leadership experience.
  • Excellent organization, project management, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in root‑cause analysis techniques (FMEA, 5

    Why, ATS, etc.) and in developing and implementing countermeasures.
  • Process‑ and solutions‑oriented, able to provide problem‑solving support and guidance to manufacturing plants.
