This internship opportunity is in the Process Chemistry group, which plays a key role in developing transformative technologies that can launch new manufacturing strategies as part of Abb Vie’s infrastructure. Under the supervision of a senior scientist, the intern will focus on advancing Abb Vie’s AI goals by utilizing state‑of‑the‑art HTE technology, enabling active learning and the development of new generation AI reactivity models for process‑critical reactions.

• Design and execution of high‑throughput experiments using automation technology.
• Characterization and analysis of experimental results.
• Curation of datasets for use in AI/ML applications.

• Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship.
• Developed skills in synthetic chemistry and ability to conduct and interpret scientific experiments, including analytical methods (HPLC, NMR).

• Expected graduation date between December 2026 – July 2027.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, including analysis and providing suggestions for additional experiments, including design and development of new assays.
• Self‑motivated; ability to execute with limited supervision and direction. Can work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot experiments, operate laboratory reactors, and identify and solve elementary problems in experimental designs.
• Programming experience (Python or similar).

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
