We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker to join our team and help us deliver the best bagels in town.
The Baker at Mill Creek Bagel Company is responsible for preparing and baking a variety of bagels and other baked goods, ensuring that each product meets our high standards for quality and consistency. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Baking and Preparation:
- Prepare dough, shape, and bake bagels according to company recipes and standards.
- Ensure consistent quality, taste, and appearance of all baked products.
- Follow established recipes and production schedules to ensure timely preparation of products.
- Manage inventory of baking ingredients, notifying management of any shortages or ordering needs.
- Operate and maintain baking equipment, including mixers, ovens, and proofers, ensuring they are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
- Food Handler Certification required within 30 days of hire
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and cleanliness standards, including proper handling and storage of ingredients.
- Monitor baking times and temperatures to achieve perfect results and avoid over or under cooking.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper labeling and storage of ingredients.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations and timely product availability.
- Assist with training new staff in baking techniques and procedures as needed.
- Communicate effectively with the team and management to address any production issues or customer requests.
- Experience
:
Previous experience as a baker, pastry chef, or in a similar role preferred. Knowledge of bagel-making techniques is a plus. - Skills
:
Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Basic understanding of baking techniques and food safety practices. - Attributes
