We strive to create a welcoming atmosphere for all our customers, and we are looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Barista to join our team.

Job Summary

The Barista at Mill Creek Bagel Company is responsible for crafting high-quality coffee and espresso drinks, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized coffee bar. The ideal candidate will be personable, reliable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Customer Service
  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders.
  • Answer questions about our coffee menu, including drink customization and product recommendations.
  • Strive to provide customers with a smooth and enjoyable experience from ordering to checkout.
Beverage Preparation
  • Prepare coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, and other beverages according to company recipes and standards.
  • Operate and maintain espresso machines and other coffee equipment with precision.
  • Monitor inventory of coffee supplies and communicate restocking needs to management.
Cleanliness and Maintenance
  • Keep the coffee bar and equipment clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Sanitize work surfaces, tools, and equipment according to safety and hygiene protocols
  • Follow all personal hygiene protocols to maintain a healthy environment for customers and staff.
  • Report any equipment or maintenance issues to management promptly.
Collaboration and Stocking
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations during busy hours.
  • Restock baked goods, beverages, and supplies as needed throughout the shift.
  • Assist in other front-of-house duties when required.
Qualifications Experience
  • Previous experience in a barista or customer service role is preferred but not required.
Skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate an espresso machine and other coffee equipment (training provided if necessary).
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions.
  • Food Handler Certification required within 30 days of hire.
Attributes
  • Friendly, reliable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be available for morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
