Mill Creek Bagel Company is an inviting, community-focused bagel shop dedicated to providing freshly made bagels, exceptional coffee, and outstanding customer service. We strive to create a welcoming atmosphere for all our customers, and we are looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Barista to join our team.
Job SummaryThe Barista at Mill Creek Bagel Company is responsible for crafting high-quality coffee and espresso drinks, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized coffee bar. The ideal candidate will be personable, reliable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Customer Service- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders.
- Answer questions about our coffee menu, including drink customization and product recommendations.
- Strive to provide customers with a smooth and enjoyable experience from ordering to checkout.
- Prepare coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, and other beverages according to company recipes and standards.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines and other coffee equipment with precision.
- Monitor inventory of coffee supplies and communicate restocking needs to management.
- Keep the coffee bar and equipment clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Sanitize work surfaces, tools, and equipment according to safety and hygiene protocols
- Follow all personal hygiene protocols to maintain a healthy environment for customers and staff.
- Report any equipment or maintenance issues to management promptly.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations during busy hours.
- Restock baked goods, beverages, and supplies as needed throughout the shift.
- Assist in other front-of-house duties when required.
- Previous experience in a barista or customer service role is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate an espresso machine and other coffee equipment (training provided if necessary).
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Food Handler Certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Friendly, reliable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be available for morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Competitive hourly wage based on experience from $16-$18/hour
