Responsible for performing all or some of the various duties within the Personalized Services Department. Duties may include laundry, dry cleaning, optical shop, barber, beauty shop, video rental, floral displays, gift wrapping, Western Union engraving, mail sorting and delivery, and other related functions.

• Barber Beauty Shop
  • Serve as receptionist, answer phones, schedule appointments.
  • Track barber beauty tickets, productivity, and daily records.
  • Work with stylists and vendors on inventory, replenishment, and monthly inventories.
  • Assist barbers and beauticians with sanitation requirements.
• Flower Shop
  • Create or assist in creating floral arrangements, corsages, bouquets, table arrangements.
  • Advise customers on types, prices, and care of flowers and plants.
  • Maintain fresh and dry flowers, dust, water, and display them orderly.
  • Assist customers with selections and take orders via Teleflora/FTD.
  • Deliver flowers on base (valid license required).
• Laundry/Dry Cleaning
  • Receive garments, compute cost, issue receipts, and classify articles.
  • Bag articles for pickup by contractors and file them in order.
  • Receive deliveries from contractors, check ticket numbers, and file receipts.
• Optical Shop
  • Enter prescription orders into log and forward to manufacturer.
  • Receive invoices, verify merchandise and prices, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Order replacement parts and maintain frame records.
  • Make sales slips and notify patrons of receipt.
• Personalized Services
  • Perform gift wrapping, engraving, and other personalized services.
  • Issue Western Union checks and maintain display area.
  • Sort and process incoming/outgoing mail and packages.
  • Maintain number control logs and master lists for PO box rentals and stamp sales.
  • Assist customers opening Military Star Card accounts and receive payments.
• Video Rental
  • Rent videotapes to authorized patrons and manage accounts.
  • Check in returns, perform basic repairs, and ensure video quality.
  • Operate cash register, prepare daily cash reports, and handle refunds/returns.
  • Maintain adequate supplies, perform equipment servicing, and follow NEX store policies.
• Layaway Services
  • Explain policies, run reports, reconcile and notify of late payments.
  • Process customer special orders and follow up with vendors.
  • Handle all cash register transactions accurately.
  • Resolve customer problems and assist with training new associates.
• Work independently under supervision, following established policies and procedures.

6 months responsible experience in a clerical office or retail sales store. Graduation from a full 4‑year or senior high school, or possession of a General Education Development (GED) certificate may substitute for the experience requirement.
