Position Summary

Sam's Club # S Randall Rd, Elgin, IL . Join our meat team and you won’t just cut meat; you’ll make important decisions about the quality, packaging, and display of our meat items for our members.

• Be a Team Member: Collaborate with other associates to build a strong meat team; communicate with team members and be flexible to the needs of the business.
• Be an Expert: Demonstrate knowledge of floor operations, back‑room operations, product safety, sanitation, inventory management, and equipment maintenance. Prepare meat products (cutting, grinding, wrapping, trimming) per established standards and maintain product quality.
• Be a Techie: Use digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and engage associates; make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality.
• Be an Owner: Maintain operational excellence, uphold work‑area standards, enforce quality and date‑control for meat products, secure merchandise, eliminate waste, and ensure proper packaging and labeling.
• Be a Talent Ambassador: Advocate for the department, model high‑quality service and products, and exhibit energy, commitment, and passion.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards by implementing action plans, using the Open Door Policy, and applying these in business processes and practices.
• Complete work assignments using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, co‑workers, customers, and partners; identify priorities; communicate progress; recommend improvement opportunities; adapt to change and learn from feedback.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to perform required physical tasks and stand for long periods.

• Prior experience in a meat department or food service environment.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
• Experience with handheld technology or digital tools used for sales and inventory tracking.

• Competitive pay ranging from $18.00 to $26.00 per hour plus performance bonuses.
