Position: Retail Personal Banker I - Waverly (SPANISH SPEAKING PREFERRED)

General Function

Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4- to 8-week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. The program includes a certification that demonstrates necessary skills for the Retail Personal Banker job family. The position focuses on using the consultative sales process to proactively identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects, acquiring new households and deepening existing relationships through activities such as lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele-consulting.

The role also processes teller transactions and serves as a member of the platform staff. Responsible for risk management, the teller follows policies and procedures and ensures a positive customer experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build a thorough customer profile and identify current and future financial needs.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of retail consumer and small business products and recommend solutions using the value proposition.
  • Utilize CAMP and other marketing tools to proactively reach customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews.
  • Focus on cross‑selling to existing customers and engaging in outside sales activities (membership advantage presentations, business sales calls, community financial literacy events, etc.) as directed.
  • Establish close relationships with assigned business partners (mortgage, small business, commercial and investment) and refer customers when appropriate.
  • Consistently meet or exceed customer experience and production goals, enhancing year‑over‑year revenue growth measured by the Financial Center P&L.
  • Provide guidance to CSRs on the sales and referral process.
  • Promote customer satisfaction with a friendly, helpful demeanor and professionalism.
  • Answer customer questions and own customer issues with confidence.
  • Maintain a position of trust, keeping all business confidential.
  • Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other policies, maintaining ethical behavior.
  • Adhere to established policies while opening/servicing Retail products.
  • Participate in the consumer loan and bankcard process, owning sourced loans from application through closing.
  • Participate in the opening/closing process of the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  • Keep current on procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.
Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • College degree or work experience with transferrable skills, or combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in the financial industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop comfort with sales activities that acquire new consumers and cross‑sell to existing customers.
  • Ability to perform advanced math functions for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and effective communication.
  • Knowledge of retail policies and procedures for sound decision making.
  • Requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment via the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
Working Conditions

  • Training may require travel within the affiliate and occasional travel outside for classroom sessions.
Salary

Total Base Pay Range: $41,600.00 – $66,600.00 USD per year.
