Alarm Systems Service & Install Technician II
Full-Time | First Shift | Monday–Friday

The Alarm Technician II is an experienced field technician within our company's Alarm Division. This role is responsible for performing alarm inspections, service, and making corrective repairs with increasing independence. They are also responsible for assisting with installations. Alarm Technician II technicians are expected to identify deficiencies, complete approved repairs, and verify systems are restored to proper operation in accordance with NFPA codes, manufacturer requirements, and company standards.
This position represents a progression from Alarm Technician I and serves as a bridge toward advanced troubleshooting and leadership responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities- Perform routine alarm inspections, testing, and routine service with minimal supervision
- Identify inspection deficiencies and complete corrective repairs, including device replacement, circuit troubleshooting, and system adjustments
- Execute follow-up service work resulting from inspections to resolve noted deficiencies and ensure system compliance
- Troubleshoot common alarm system issues and verify system functionality after repairs
- Accurately complete inspection reports, service documentation, and deficiency records using company systems
- Assist in Alarm System installations from start to finish
- Communicate findings, required repairs, and completed work clearly with supervisors, project managers, and customers
- Maintain tools, test equipment, and job sites in a safe, organized, and professional manner
- Support and mentor Alarm Technician I team members through on-the-job guidance
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and customer site requirements
This role offers hourly compensation based on experience, ranging from $28-32. Compensation beyond this range may be considered for NICET certification and/or additional years of experience. Required Qualifications- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of fire alarm inspection, service, and/or installation experience (or equivalent progression from Alarm Technician I)
- Working knowledge of fire alarm systems, devices, and basic circuitry
- Ability to read and interpret inspection reports, device layouts, and system documentation
- Comfortable working independently in the field while escalating complex issues as needed
- NICET Level I or Level II in Fire Alarm Systems or active pursuit of certification
- Experience with common fire alarm panels and manufacturers
- Familiarity with NFPA 72 and local AHJ requirements
- Prior experience performing corrective repairs following inspections
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and access confined spaces
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods
- Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments
