Senior Low Voltage Technician (Travel Role TX, Gulf Coast, Southeast U.S.)
Location:
Traveling Based in Texas with projects across the Gulf Coast and southeastern U.S.

We’re looking for a Senior Low Voltage Technician to join our growing team and take the lead on complex installations, terminations, and troubleshooting for fiber optics, access control, surveillance systems, and structured cabling. This is a traveling role with job sites across Texas, the Gulf Coast, and the Southeast U.S., requiring technical expertise, self-leadership, and the ability to work both independently and as a mentor to junior techs.
WhatYou'll Do
- Fiber Optics:
Splice (fusion), terminate, and test using OTDR and power meters - Access Control:
Install door hardware, readers, panels, and power systems - Surveillance Systems:
Install and program IP CCTV (Genetec & Avigilon preferred) - Structured Cabling:
Troubleshoot Cat5e/6/6A and fiber cable infrastructure - Documentation:
Read/interpret construction drawings, risers, and schematics - Travel:
Perform work on remote job sites, including overnight stays - Customer Interface:
Communicate clearly with clients, PMs, and site leaders - Mentorship:
Train and support junior techs in the field - Safety First:
Prioritize safety, accuracy, and craftsmanship on every job
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in low voltage electrical work.
- Proven ability to install, terminate, and troubleshoot fiber optics, access control, and surveillance systems.
- Experience with Genetec and/or Avigilon preferred.
- NICET I or II in Fire Alarm or related discipline is a plus.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
- Valid and current driver's license.
- Ability to pass drug screen and background check.
- Bosch Alarm, March DVR/CCTV experience a big plus.
- Understanding of low voltage industry codes, standards, and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Capable of leading smaller teams and training less experienced technicians.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High-level problem-solving and customer service aptitude.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools, test equipment, and mechanical lifts.
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs
- Bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and work overhead or in tight spaces
- Visual acuity and color recognition (critical for fiber work)
- Use of hand/power tools and diagnostic test equipment
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts at various heights
