Job Summary
Trane Technologies, a leader in climate solutions for buildings and transportation, invites a HVAC Pre‑Apprentice Technician to assist seasoned Service Technicians on customer sites. The role focuses on installing, maintaining and repairing environmental control systems while gaining hands‑on experience in refrigeration theory, control systems, pipe fitting and structural layouts. Successful candidates will be eligible to enter the Trane Commercial HVAC Technician Apprenticeship Program (TAP), a four‑year nationally registered apprenticeship that combines paid instruction and on‑the‑job training.
Job LocationField‑based:
Work is conducted on‑site at customer locations.
- Assist seasoned Service Technicians in the installation and repair of environmental control systems.
- Identify, examine, diagnose and plan for equipment repair, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with supervising field technician, project manager and customers to understand installation requirements, forecast issues, gather materials and synchronize on‑site work.
- Use advanced software, hand tools and blueprints/engineering specifications to diagnose and repair HVAC units.
- Maintain highest safety standards and uphold security and accountability of company‑issued and procured assets.
- No industry experience required; technical school certificates or formal HVAC training will be considered for starting compensation.
- Minimum age 18 and high‑school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations in the last 3 years.
