Fence Installer Job Summary
The Entry‑Level Fence Installer works as part of a 2–3 person crew to install commercial permanent and temporary fencing, including wood, chain link, PVC, aluminum, and other materials. This role is ideal for individuals who are dependable, eager to learn, and capable of performing physical work in outdoor environments. Training is provided, and motivated employees can advance into higher‑level installer and journeyman roles.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Install commercial fencing systems according to project specifications and company standards
- Prepare installation sites, including digging post holes, setting posts, and ensuring proper alignment
- Ensure all fence installations are level, plumb, secure, and completed with quality workmanship
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Assist with routine maintenance and repairs on installed fencing as needed
- Communicate clearly with crew members, supervisors, and customers to support efficient project completion
- Driver’s License & Clean MVR — No suspensions within the last 3 years
- Background — Must pass a background check
- Experience — At least 1 year of fence installation experience preferred, but motivated candidates with relevant construction or outdoor labor experience will be considered
- Technical Skills — Experience driving 2–3 ton trucks and towing trailers is a plus
- Communication — Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Physical Requirements — Ability to lift equipment, work outdoors in various weather conditions, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
Employees must be able to talk and hear regularly, use hands and fingers to operate tools, and stand, walk, kneel, squat, and reach for extended periods. Occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds is required. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
