Job Summary

The Maintenance Lead is responsible for leading daily maintenance operations within the facility to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient equipment performance. This position coordinates maintenance team activities, prioritizes repairs, supports preventative maintenance programs, and assists with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.

Leadership & Team Coordination
  • Assign and prioritize daily maintenance work orders and repair activities
  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance technicians
  • Monitor work completion and ensure repairs are documented accurately
  • Coordinate emergency breakdown response efforts
  • Communicate equipment status and repair priorities with production leadership
  • Support training and development of maintenance personnel
  • Promote a safe and organized work environment
Essential Lead Job Functions Mechanical, Electrical & Preventative Maintenance Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair corrugators, converting equipment, conveyors, glue systems, pumps, motors, and other production machinery
  • Identify and repair air, water, glue, oil, steam, vacuum, pneumatic, and hydraulic system leaks
  • Troubleshoot and repair pumps, pump systems, cylinders, and related mechanical components
  • Install, replace, maintain, and align:
    • Bearings
    • Bushings
    • Locking collars
    • Chains and sprockets
    • Belts and pulleys
    • Rollers and shafts
    • Gearboxes
    • Tensioners and related drive components
  • Perform precision alignment, squaring, tensioning, and tolerance adjustments on equipment and machinery
  • Disassemble, rebuild, and reassemble production equipment, racking systems, and machinery components
  • Fabricate, modify, and repair damaged parts and equipment using welding, cutting, grinding, machining, fastening, and other repair techniques
  • Assist with equipment installations, rebuilds, roll changes, shutdowns, and major repair projects
  • Lead rigging and setup activities for large repairs and equipment changeovers
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals
  • Analyze machine performance and operating conditions to diagnose failures and determine effective corrective actions
Electrical & Controls Support
  • Perform basic industrial electrical troubleshooting and repairs
  • Assist with troubleshooting:
    • Motors
    • Sensors
    • VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives)
    • PLC-controlled equipment
    • Drive systems and electrical controls
  • Support maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical panels and control systems
  • Work with outside vendors, contractors, and service technicians as needed
Preventative & Predictive Maintenance
  • Support and enforce preventative and predictive maintenance programs
  • Complete and document preventative maintenance tasks according to schedule
  • Assist with identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and uptime
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair history, labor tracking, and parts usage documentation
  • Assist in minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance and continuous improvement efforts
