Maintenance Electrician

Overview

Maintenance Electrician in Elgin, IL. Currently looking for a Maintenance Electrician to fill an opening with a company in Elgin, IL. Interested candidates should have at least one year of Maintenance Electrician experience in manufacturing.

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on the electrical systems including assembly, disassembly and calibration for machinery used in the metal forming industry
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical maintenance issues on presses and other metal forming machinery as well as the overall facility including air compressors, etc.
• Run tests on equipment in order to identify and isolate electrical issues
• Utilize wire strippers, continuity testers, voltmeters and other electrical and power tools as needed
• Bend and install conduit as well as pull wire and cable
• Install the electrical side of new and rebuilt equipment
• Review electrical prints and schematics and compliance to NEC (National Electric Codes) as well as OSHA safety standards
• Become familiar with or apply your expertise (if you already have it) to install and troubleshoot AC and DC Drives and single and three phase motors and motor control systems

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least one year of Maintenance Electrician experience in manufacturing
• More experience is a strong plus
• Electrical Certifications or Vocational Certifications are a plus

The targeted hourly base salary for this first shift position ranges from $27.00 per hour to $42.00 per hour depending on experience.
