What We Are Looking For
We seek a skilled and dedicated Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Carpentersville community. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on professional who takes pride in their work and thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. You should possess strong troubleshooting abilities, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues. The right candidate will be self‑motivated, organized, and able to follow direction while also working independently when needed.
Job Type: Full time
Pay: $24 to $25 per hour
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (hours may vary), Monday to Friday, on call, weekends as needed
Key Qualifications
- Reliable transportation to get to work
- 1+ year of experience in apartment maintenance, facilities, or residential construction
- Strong communication skills; able to interact professionally with residents, vendors, and team members
- Familiarity with basic repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting, and appliance maintenance
- Ability to work independently, follow directions, and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
What You Will Be Doing
- Perform routine property inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactively
- Complete resident service requests and work orders promptly and professionally
- Maintain property grounds by removing trash, leaves, branches, and other debris to keep common areas clean and attractive
- Support the completion of unit turnovers and make‑readies, including painting, repairs, and cleaning as needed
- Assist in preventative maintenance efforts to extend the life of property systems and equipment
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
- Deliver notices and communications to residents as directed by management
- Participate in an after‑hours maintenance emergencies schedule
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Working Location
This position is located on‑site at the Carpentersville property.
