Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties.
Job DescriptionEssential Duties & Responsibilities:
The following job description is for a position of Maintenance with Purple and Include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test andmake adjustments
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Ability to operate forklifts.
Ability to operate pallet stretch-wrapping machine.
Ability to operate cardboard baling machine.
Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience working in a maintenance capacity.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense, understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions, to deal with problems from various situations.Mathematics Ability:
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide 10’s and 100’s by 2, 3, 4 and 5, perform the four basic arithmetic operations with coins as part of a dollar, and perform operations with units such as inch, foot, yard, ounce, and pound.Language Ability:
Ability to print (to inscribe by whatever means) simple sentences, series of numbers, names, and addresses. Also, includes the ability to communicate in simple sentencesKnowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to warehousing.
Knowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling, application, and disposal.
Physical activities may occasionally include:
Remaining in stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Adjusting or moving objects up to 15 pounds in all directions.
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The worker is subject to a variety of environmental conditions, both inside and out.
The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions with no effective protection from weather.
The worker is subject to extreme cold - temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of over one hour.
