Identify proper patient to be transported by checking armband;
Make sure mode of transport is appropriate to patient’s condition;
Ensure proper precautions are taken for each patient (oxygen, foley catheter, chest tube, etc.);
Make sure patient is properly covered to protect their privacy;
Instruct and help new transport staff so they are properly trained
