The Campus Dean plans, directs, manages, and supervises the administrative operations and activities at the assigned campus under the supervision of the college President; assists the President in representing the College to the community; and provides senior-level support to the President.
The Campus Dean receives supervision from the President and exercises direct supervision over some employees and site-based supervision over others, depending on the division's reporting structure.
General:
* Works in cooperation with the President and Vice Presidents (VP's) to develop, evaluate and assess the Unit Action Plan for the campus.
* Develops and implements the college's strategic plan as it relates to campus operations and services.
* Meets regularly with the President to proactively address county budget priorities, operational needs, and campus resource planning.
* Coordinates with the VP of Business and Administrative Services/Chief Finance Officer (VPBAS/CFO) in developing, monitoring and reviewing the state and county budgets for facility and plant operations; recommends budget transfers or changes to ensure fiscal responsibility and efficiency.
* Uses institutional data (including enrollment trends, space utilization, completion outcomes, and workforce demand) to inform budget recommendations, resource requests, and operational decisions.
* Provides ongoing assessment of space and equipment needs and recommends appropriate action.
* Participates in cross-functional campus meetings (academic affairs, workforce development, student success, marketing, and operations) to ensure alignment, reduce silos, and support student-centered outcomes.
* Works collaboratively with the VP of Learning, Dean of Workforce Development, Economic Development, and Public Safety, Academic Deans and Department Chairs to support efficient and effective curriculum and continuing education scheduling.
* Partners with Academic Deans and Workforce leadership to support instructor recruitment, student engagement activities, faculty and staff needs, and alignment of programs with local workforce demand.
* Develops appropriate rules and procedures for the operation, maintenance and management of the campus offices and provides necessary reports.
* Supervises and completes evaluations of all personnel reporting to the Campus Dean and encourages professional development.
* Assists the President in representing the College with businesses, schools, local government and community partners.
* Coordinates with the VPs and their designees on enrollment, personnel, facilities, and technology matters.
* Serves on college committees.
* Performs other duties as assigned by the college President.
Unique:
* Participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures and provides insight into their impact on the campus.
* Evaluates the campus operations to ensure alignment with college goals, student needs, and strategic priorities.
* Works closely with the college President and VPs to ensure consistent implementation of programs and policies across campuses.
* Works with the VPBAS/CFO and county personnel to ensure campus grounds and buildings are safe, clean and well-maintained.
* Serves as the point of contact during campus emergencies as outlined in the college's Emergency Response Plan.
* In collaboration with the Academic Deans, coordinates space requirements for instructional services and assesses equipment needs.
* Approves facility use agreements.
* In collaboration with the VP of Student Success and Enrollment Management (VPSSEM), participates in disciplinary processes as needed.
* Promotes and represents the College locally, statewide, and nationally through professional associations and conferences.
* Aligns community outreach and engagement with enrollment growth, workforce development, student success, and the college's strategic goals.
* Documents community engagement activities and outcomes and provides periodic reports to the President.
