• One year recent experience as a Stepdown RN
• Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)

• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification
• NIHSS certification
• Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position

A Stepdown Registered Nurse provides care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical or general inpatient units. Responsibilities include frequent monitoring, specialized nursing interventions, medication administration, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

• Monitors cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments, focusing on cardiac care
• Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac‑related procedures
• Maintains patient comfort and safety needs, including telemetry patients
• Observes patients, records significant status changes, and notifies physician or supervisor of cardiac conditions and responses to interventions
• Responds to life‑saving situations per protocols for cardiac emergencies
• Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
• Initiates patient education plans regarding cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team for comprehensive care
• Maintains confidentiality of patients and client data
• Performs other duties within scope of practice
• Adheres to safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

• Physical capabilities: stationary or moving positions, moving equipment (50‑100 lb), pushing, pulling, bending
