Program Coordinator, Nurse Aide​/Health Occupations

College of The Albemarle (COA) invites applications from qualified individuals for the position of Program Coordinator, Nurse Aide and Health Occupations
. This is a full‑time, benefits‑eligible faculty position responsible for providing high‑quality instruction while coordinating the College's credit and non‑credit Nurse Aide and Health Occupations programs. The Program Coordinator provides leadership for program operations, curriculum implementation, student success initiatives, faculty support, regulatory compliance, and continuous program improvement in accordance with College, state, and accrediting agency requirements. Program Coordinators receive $150 stipend in addition to their salary.

The role of the Program Coordinator, Nurse Aide and Health Occupations is to supervise and coordinate all activities (student, faculty, and instructional) associated with the credit and non‑credit Nurse Aide & Health Occupations programs and courses at all college locations.

The Program Coordinator, Nurse Aide and Health Occupations receives supervision from the Dean, Health Sciences and Wellness Programs.

• Teach and maintain responsibility for overall effectiveness and coordination of credit and non‑credit health and wellness‑related programs, including Nurse Aide, Health Occupations, Health Science specialty College Success coursework (ACA 111 and 122)
• Provide new opportunities for health occupation programs/courses to be offered for credit and non‑credit in continuing education by exploring health care facilities and employees' continuing education needs
• Coordinate a Health Sciences Academy for high school students interested in healthcare occupations in collaboration with Health Sciences division and Student Success and Enrollment Management (SSEM)/College and Career Promise (CCP) personnel.
• Prepare and submit the annual program budget request for part‑time faculty, instructional supplies/equipment and travel needed to accomplish the programs' objectives.
• Manage the budget for the programs maintaining security of all program equipment.
• Submit a recommended annual schedule of programs and program courses, including instructor assignments; preparing various reports/program reviews.
• Maintain Full Approval Status by the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) for NA I and the NC Board of Nursing (NCBON) for NA II.
• Teach a minimum of one NAi or NAII and on Health Science version of ACA 111 or 122 courses per semester.
• Participate actively in College and department committees as assigned.
• Coordinate membership and keep the nurse aide programs' advisory committees apprised of the current status of activities within the NA program and other health‑related programs.
• Maintain membership in appropriate professional organizations.
• Recruit, hire, orient, and evaluate part‑time faculty.
• Develop, implement, evaluate and revise the NA/Health Occupation Program's curriculum in accordance with the N.C. DHHS, NCBON and the N.C. Community College System.
• Maintain awareness of and order current textbooks for all Health Occupation Programs in a timely manner. Ensure availability through the bookstore to include special program needs for all respective campus locations.
• Ensure that all course syllabi for the Health Occupation programs are kept current and on file in the appropriate office(s).
• Attend state, regional and local meetings that impact NA training and relevant health occupation programs.
• Participate in the review and revision of the health programs' orientation.
• Adhere to the policies/guidelines in the health programs' syllabi; scheduling and conducting the health programs' orientation sessions.
