Controller ​/ Accounting Manager

Description

This role will oversee core accounting operations and financial reporting for the business. The successful candidate will have 7+ years of progressive general accounting experience within a manufacturing environment, with a strong command of inventory accounting. This is not a purely supervisory position-this role requires direct involvement in transactional and operational accounting.

Key Responsibilities

+ Manage and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process

+ Prepare and review internal financial statements and supporting schedules

+ Oversee inventory accounting, including costing, reserves, and reconciliations

+ Handle or closely supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable

+ Perform general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis

+ Maintain and improve accounting controls, processes, and documentation

+ Support external auditors and year‑end reporting requirements

+ Partner with operations and management to support financial decision‑making

Requirements

+ 7+ years of general accounting and financial reporting experience within a manufacturing company

+ Required experience with inventory accounting

+ Strong hands‑on background with GL, AP, AR, and close processes

+ Experience at the Accounting Manager or Controller level, depending on scope and company size

+ Solid understanding of GAAP; cost accounting experience is highly preferred

+ ERP or manufacturing accounting system experience strongly preferred
