Administration Officer - Cultural Development
- Level 4 | Salary from $77,133 - $82,504 per annum, plus superannuation

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Administration Officer to support the City’s Cultural Development team, responsible for heritage, arts, museums and libraries.
In this role, you will be part of a collaborative and supportive team working in a fast-paced and creative environment. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality customer service, providing a broad range of administrative support, and contributing to the effective delivery of services that support the City’s cultural initiatives.
With a strong focus on attention to detail and teamwork, this position offers variety, challenge and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution.
Some of the activities undertaken by the Administration Officer include:
- Acting as a key point of contact for customers, contractors and stakeholders, responding to enquiries and ensuring matters are resolved or appropriately referred.
- Providing timely, accurate administrative support, including document checking, receipting, processing, diary management, routine correspondence, travel arrangements, meeting and project coordination, facility hire bookings, and the preparation and distribution of documents and data.
- Coordinating and responding to customer enquiries received through the City’s Customer Request Management System and via telephone.
- Raising requisitions and completing routine financial transactions and purchasing activities in accordance with organisational procedures.
- Raising, tracking and completing work requests and work orders as required.
- Maintaining registers, databases and information systems, ensuring records are accurate, compliant, securely stored and accessible.
- Assisting with administrative and operational tasks across the team as needed.
As a collaborative member of the Cultural Development team, you will bring strong customer service skills and confidence navigating multiple computer systems. You will thrive in a fast-paced, change-driven organisation and enjoy working as part of a supportive and professional team.
Through your resume and cover letter, you will demonstrate the following experience and capabilities:
- A qualification in a relevant discipline (such as Business Administration) and/or demonstrated relevant experience.
- Sound experience in administrative and financial processes, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Well-developed administrative, financial, numeracy and literacy skills.
- Proficient keyboarding and data entry skills.
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently utilise information systems and technology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed customer service skills, with the ability to respond to a range of enquiries professionally and effectively.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
