Part Time Receptionist – Union Post Acute, Union, South Carolina

Job Summary

Union Post Acute is a long‑term care and rehabilitation community located in Union, South Carolina, near Spartanburg. The role provides a warm, home‑like environment with a friendly, professional, and supportive atmosphere for residents in our assisted living and skilled nursing community.

  • 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Responsibilities
  • Answering and directing phone calls
  • Greeting residents, visitors, and staff with a smile
  • Managing front desk operations and administrative tasks
  • Filing, scanning, and maintaining records
  • Assisting with mail and office communication
  • Supporting department managers as needed
Qualifications
  • Friendly and professional demeanor
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Dependable and organized
  • Experience in reception or healthcare preferred, but not required
General Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to attend to and greet visitors and answer the telephone. The duties are limited to clerical tasks within the Reception/Administrative area; there is no clinical involvement.

Essential Duties
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support
  • Greet and welcome patients, clients, and other visitors with a friendly and positive demeanor
  • Answer telephone calls and take messages or forward calls
  • Check visitors in and direct or escort them to specific destinations
  • Inform other employees of visitors’ arrivals and cancellations
  • Maintain a visitor sign‑in log
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail
  • Schedule appointments and maintain meeting room bookings
  • Maintain and tidy the reception area
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Agree not to disclose residents’ protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information, and report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure
Supervisory Requirements

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualification Details
  • Education:

    High school diploma or GED required; previous administrative or receptionist experience preferred
  • Language skills:
    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to present information and respond to questions from managers and employees
  • Mathematical skills:
    Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Reasoning ability:
    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization; ability to interpret a variety of written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
  • Certificates, licenses, registrations:
    Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products, clerical functions, and multiline phone systems
Physical Demands

The role requires occasional lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds; prolonged use of a desktop or laptop computer; regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, reading, and hearing; frequent use of copier, scanner, fax, telephone, and calculator. No travel required.

Work Environment
