The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for designing, launching and scaling a high-performance referral-driven revenue engine for our residential HVAC business. This role will architect and manage programs that generate consistent new business through relationships, community presence, strategic partnerships, and technology-enabled tracking. The BDM will recruit and manage individuals and organizations who act as referrers (realtors, property managers, HOAs, contractors, community groups, etc.)
design referral programs, manage events and outreach efforts, and implement systems to track performance and ROI.
- Proactively identify, target, and pursue new opportunities, build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects; establish and grow strategic alliances
- Create visibility and reputation in the local market
- Design, launch and continuously improve formal referral programs for individual referrers, strategic partners and community organizations.
- Assist in creating program structures, incentives and guidelines.
- Track participation and optimize program effectiveness; work with internal staff on how to leverage and support referral activity.
- Recruit individuals to serve as referral partners such as realtors, property managers, HOA board members, community influencers and local business owners.
- Create engagement plans to keep referrers motivated and productive
- Develop partnerships with organizations such as real estate brokerages, homeowner associations, property management firms, builders and remodelers and business groups.
- Plan and execute company hosted events to attract referral partners.
- Represent Binsky Home at networking events, trade shows, and community functions.
- Plan and manage referral partner appreciation events such as lunch and learns, community sponsorship, and realtor outreach events.
- Coordinate logistics, budgets, invitations, and follow-ups
- Track ROI of events and continuously refine strategy.
- Utilize social media platforms (Linked In, Facebook, local groups, etc.) to engage potential referral partners, promote events, and increase brand awareness and visibility.
- Implement and manage tools to track referral sources and measure program performance
- Use data to guide decision making; develop dashboards to show referral activity, conversion rates, revenue impact and cost per acquisition.
- Operate with strong financial discipline
- Manage budgets for events, sponsor ships, tools and programs
- Track ROI for all business development initiatives
- Make data driven decisions to maximize return on investment
- 5-10 years’ proven experience in business development, B2B sales, or account management (residential HVAC, plumbing and industrial services.)
- Demonstrated success generating recurring revenue through referral-based selling
- Experience working with property management companies or multi-site clients
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Experience with social media as a business development tool and comfortable with technology.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and leadership
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
- Strong prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills; creative but grounded in measurable results
- Comfortable with rejection and persistent follow-up
- Ability to operate independently with high accountability
