Director of Sales and Business Development
Location:
Emmaus, PA | NYC | Newark, NJ (onsite) Position:
Full Time MUST HAVE
- The client is looking for candidates with experience in paper products, janitorial/sanitation products, or food service supplies.
- The ideal candidate does not necessarily need to come directly from a competitor but should have exposure to these product lines through a distributor, supplier, manufacturer, or a related industry.
- Additionally, the client is looking for a Sales Director with experience in any of these product/service areas and is not requiring experience across all of them.
#1. Extensive experience in sales leadership, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving targets.
#2. Ability to manage a large group of territory managers.
#3. Ability to travel
#4. No more than 3 jobs in the past 10 years
Responsibilities for the Director of Sales and Business Development- Develop and execute the sales strategy for assigned territories to drive revenue growth and market expansion
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of sales professionals, ensuring alignment with company goals and performance expectations
- Establish accurate sales forecasts and monitor performance against targets
- Drive accountability and continuous improvement through performance management and metrics tracking
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, with a focus on long-term partnership and customer satisfaction
- Collaborate cross-functionally with corporate functions and distribution or operational groups to ensure customer satisfaction
- Identify and implement programs, tools, and processes to enhance sales effectiveness and efficiency
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform strategy
- Ensure consistent execution of company initiatives and sales processes across the sales team
- Bachelor’s degree in business, prefer MBA
- Extensive experience in sales leadership, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving targets
- Strong people leadership skills, with experience managing and developing high-performing teams
- Industry experience in distribution or related sectors preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence both internal and external stakeholders
- Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Experience working with or competing against major industry players
- Background managing a large group of territory managers.
- Significant travel is expected
