Job Title

Strategic Client Executive (SCE)

Overview

The Strategic Client Executive (SCE) role serves as the primary point of contact for Zelis clients, leading a strategic book of business comprised of large, complex payers with multiple Zelis solutions. The SCE drives growth, ensures client retention, and fosters cross‑sell opportunities through strong relationships and a superior One Zelis customer experience.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the single point of contact for management of Zelis services, overseeing relationships, operations, financial plans, and strategy.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, deeply understanding business strategies, needs, and challenges.
  • Manage revenue targets, budgets, forecasts, and product utilization reviews for the assigned book of business.
  • Lead client renewals and retention, negotiate contracts, and seek partnership expansion.
  • Identify and mitigate risks such as volume decreases, service gaps, or changes in client relationships.
  • Drive revenue growth through product optimization and key differentiator communication.
  • Uncover and qualify opportunities for growth; collaborate with sales to present solutions and cross‑sell.
  • Illustrate and validate client outcomes using reporting aligned to business goals.
  • Conduct client business reviews and account plans to optimize value.
  • Advocate for industry‑leading service delivery and satisfaction, securing references and case studies as needed.

Skills & Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, health‑care administration, or related field.
  • 10+ years in client‑management roles within payer and regional health‑plan space.
  • Experience with insurance, cost management, electronic payments, or healthcare communications solutions.
  • Demonstrated revenue‑management success and increased utilization within a strategic book of business.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Proven collaboration with Sales, Operations, Product, Services, and Marketing.
  • Ability to anticipate future trends and incorporate them into business reviews.
  • Strong data‑analysis and reporting skills, converting data into narratives.
  • Sense of urgency, multi‑tasking, and prioritization.
  • Strong listening and comprehension skills to address client concerns.
  • Travel: 30‑40% domestic; remote location.
