• Write, edit, and publish a high volume of news and culture content daily, from breaking stories to reported features
• Edit copy quickly and accurately under tight deadlines
• Collaborate with editorial, audio, and social teams for cohesive coverage
• Identify and elevate emerging stories relevant to Black audiences
• Monitor performance and audience response to inform editorial decisions

• 1–3 years of experience in digital journalism, web producing, or content creation
• Proven experience writing and editing online content, including articles and social copy
• Familiarity with CMS publishing tools and basic image editing software
• Working knowledge of SEO, tagging, and content optimization best practices
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field preferred, but strong experience may substitute
• Experience publishing or promoting content on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and X
• A genuine love of news, current events, and cultural conversation
