Student success coach and mentor (entry level, paid, full-time) City Year Ameri Corps Member. City Year helps students across schools succeed by providing support to students, classrooms and schools to ensure high-quality education and skills for community contribution.
What You’ll Do As a City Year Ameri Corps member, you will coach and mentor elementary, middle and/or high school students to help them earn academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors. You will plan and monitor student progress and work with teachers on in-class instruction and student support.
Role and Responsibilities
- Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students: 1:1 and small group work; develop literacy and/or math activities; create and implement a behavior management system; collaborate with teachers to monitor progress; help create an engaging classroom space.
- Support whole-school initiatives to increase engagement with students and families: extend-day and virtual programming; contribute to events recognizing student growth in math, literacy, attendance and behavior.

Job Duties

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s preferred. Active teaching certification and background checks compliance, strong technology and communication skills, and strong organizational abilities.
Location/Hours Remote;
