Position:
Director of Marching Band Ensembles
The primary purpose of the position is to direct and/or coordinate all ensembles associated with the Marching Band, including Marching Band, Color Guard, Drum Line, and Pep Band. Duties may also include teaching classes such as Concert Band, music literature, conducting, or other courses based on area of expertise or departmental needs.
QualificationsA Master’s degree in music or Music Education required. A DMA/PhD/EDD or equivalent preferred. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, ability to work collegially, collaborate with diverse university stakeholders, and forge relationships with local high school band directors. For tenure‑track appointments, a terminal degree and record of scholarly and/or creative research are required. Degrees must be from regionally accredited institutions.
Required Training and ExperienceA Master’s degree is required.
