About the role

Queen Elizabeth II High School is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Deputy Headteacher to join our leadership team on a one‑year fixed‑term basis from September 2026.

Working closely with the Headteacher, you will help drive school improvement, support high‑quality teaching and learning, and contribute to a positive, inclusive culture where every pupil can thrive. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader or an aspiring senior teacher ready to take the next step.

You will play a key role in shaping strategic priorities, leading agreed areas, and building strong relationships across the school community.   • Competitive salary that increases each 12 months until you reach the salary maximum.
  • Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, you will be offered two pensions arrangements:
    Teachers Superannuation scheme or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution (DC) arrangement.
  • If you are returning to the island and have participated in the Department’s Student Loan scheme for tuition fees, the loan will be repaid by the Department upon completion of your second year working as a teacher at one of the island’s schools. The repayment is subject to a maximum of £7,500 for a three year degree course or £10,000 for a four year degree course, and the requirements detailed in the Teacher Loan Cancellation Policy.
  • Access to the Learning, Education and Development training facility, which is exclusively for Public Service employees, to keep on top of your continuous professional development.

Things to note
